2016 SKYWARN Recognition Day

2016 SKYWARN Recognition Day
December 3, 2016, from 0000z to 2400z
(Friday 6:00 PM to Saturday 6:00 PM)

National Weather Service – Nashville, TN
500 Weather Station Road
Old Hickory, TN 37138

SKYWARNTM Recognition Day was developed in 1999 by the National Weather Service and the American Radio Relay League. It celebrates the contributions that volunteer SKYWARNTM radio operators make to the National Weather Service. During the day SKYWARNTM operators visit NWS offices and contact other radio operators across the world.

Typically we operate a couple of HF stations with an operator and a logger who can swap out as needed.  We also operate a VHF/UHF station on MTEARS, local repeaters, IRLP, DSTAR, etc…

Set-up at the weather service will begin Friday afternoon. Operations will begin Friday at 6:00 PM and continue for 24 hours.  The schedule is configured in two hour blocks of time.

If you would like to participate in the event as a radio operator, or as a support person, please complete the following registration form.  Operating slots will be filled on a first come, first served, basis.  You may pick more than one time slot.  I will contact you to work out any scheduling conflicts.
